What a Grind

Great new restaurant in the old hood, Arcadia! One of our cool patients just opened up The Grind www.thegrindaz.com on 40th and Camelback and Shawn and I stopped by for lunch. The place looks great, modern, fun bar, nice buzzing atmosphere. They have some kind of fancy coal oven that gets to around 1000 degrees (we got a little tour of the kitchen) which creates some amazing fare. I started off with the house salad, yum, and Shawn had a bacon salad - huge slabby, chunks of delicious bacon (if you dig on swine).

I moved on to an incredible sea bass sandwich, so light, so good, bun had roasted red onions and olive tapenade on it, while Shawn had a right from the 1000 degree oven burger and it didn't last long. The roasted vegetable side dish was truly amazing, I could live on it. Owner, Matt, surprised us at the end with donuts, sprinkled with powdered sugar with a caramel/butterscotch dipping sauce - OMG. We're going back.
