Oslo

Oslo is a wonderful city full of history, incredible architecture and amazingly beautiful people! We awoke early and watched the fjords pass by from our balconies as we pulled in to port. We took a tour of the city by coach then went to the Olympic ski jump site and museum.
Norway is famous for the height of their ski jumps and the distance the skiers achieve. The girls thought that they would be cool and climbed all the way to the top.
Their legs were shaking for a few hours! We went to a stunning sculpture park named after the artist Vigeland. The city gave him a park and allowed him to create a masterpiece for over forty years.
There are sculptures of people in all stages of life interacting in so many ways - it really was magnificent. We then left the tour and ventured out on our own to a very hip part of town for lunch. We tried to blend in with the locals (I was banned from reading my Fodors book) and then took a leisurely walk back to the ship. the weather has been ideal - sunny and cool, with a little rain today. We are loving it! I think that we have the lay of the ship now and seem to easily find each other. There are lots of secret little places as well as our favorite 12 story glass elevators overlooking the ocean. We'll be in Copenhagen tomorrow.
